How to Connect Your Telegram Group

Connecting Your Telegram Group to Metricgram

Once you have linked your Telegram account in Metricgram, connecting a group is quick. From onboarding, click "Add @metric_gram_bot to group".

Before you start

• Your Telegram account must already be linked in Metricgram
• You must be an admin of the group you want to connect

Linking your Telegram account and connecting a group are separate steps. The account link identifies you in Metricgram; adding the bot connects a group so Metricgram can record its activity. You do not need to sign in to the optional Telegram synchronization session for this standard setup.

How it works

1. Click "Add @metric_gram_bot to group".
2. Telegram will open the group selector.
3. Choose the group where you want to add the bot.
4. Confirm the admin permissions requested by Telegram.
5. When the bot is added, Metricgram detects the connection and the group dashboard becomes available.

Important

• If Telegram does not show the group you need, make sure you are using the correct account and that you have admin permissions.
• After adding the bot, Metricgram records new activity as Telegram sends it. To recover earlier messages, open Group synchronization from Sync users on the users page or Sync topics on the Dashboard for a forum group. Sign in with your phone number, the code Telegram sends you, and your two-step verification password if enabled; you do not need to provide an API ID or API hash. Choose Import history in the Message history card to recover the selected group's available history, with no time or message limit. Signing in or connecting a group does not start an import. Recovery runs in the background and also checks forum topics; destinations using deleted topics need review, and affected scheduled messages are paused. The card shows the progress and the result. This optional login is separate from linking your Telegram account or adding the bot.
